I'm an addict...

That’s right, you heard me, I’m addicted to books. I currently have about 15 titles at home sitting on my bookshelf that haven’t been read yet, but I continue to buy more. Since the beginning of June, I’ve picked up Sisters Red, Suite Scarlett, Looking for Alaska, Hex Hall, White Cat, Some Girls Are, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, The Girl Who Played with Fire, a Bobby Flay cookbook, and two children’s books. In my defense, the children’s books were gifts, but who am I kidding, they were really just an excuse to get my body into the book store. Once I’m there, I may as well pick something up for myself, right?

In addition to all of those, I also pre-ordered Mockingjay and Beautiful Darkness.

Let’s not even get started on the audiobooks I take out from the library. I’ve eased up on these because I’ve listened to all of the YA that interests me available at my library. Just last week, I was using my husband’s car and popped in a random disc of Order of the Phoenix that he had in his portable cd case.

Just when I think I’m on the road to recovery – I haven’t purchased a book in over 2 weeks – Borders goes and sends me a barrage of emails offering all kinds of discounts. 25% off for “friends and family” (they even called me their “best friend”), Up to 53% off future bestsellers, and finally – this one really takes the cake – my local Borders is having a tent sale this weekend with books priced as low as $1.99. In other words, Borders is a total enabler.

And I love it.

How about you? Are you a bookstore or library junkie?

  1. I have a crazy huge TBR pile too and I keep buying more books. I've started using a couple different swap sites to get books for cheaper.

P.S. I've read Hex Hall, Sisters Red, and White Cat and they are all great. My review of Sisters Red will be up tomorrow actually. :)
