- It's really hard to write after not writing for a few days. I was sick over the weekend, and it spilled into Monday. When I finally picked it up again, it took me a long time to get back into the flow of things.
- I should have done more research. My story takes place in Philadelphia. I've been to a lot of the places in the story, but one thing I've never done was take public transit. I wasted a lot of time researching where the Philly subway and bus system stops in relation to the locations in my story. It's sort of annoying and disrupts my flow.
- Word sprints are my friend. If I need to get my word count up, a quick ten minute sprint helps a lot. It helps me focus on getting words down and my inner editor takes a back seat.

I've learned that I need to listen to my playlist. It helps me so much! I also feel like I didn't do enough research so it's holding back my progress A LOT.
ReplyDeleteWord sprints are awesome for getting the word count up. I discovered that recently at a write-in.
ReplyDeleteOooh, word sprints is such an interesting idea! I'll have to try it.
ReplyDeleteIf you need any Philly information, I used to take the train and the subway every day to school, so just let me know!
